About Equine Reflections

Angela Dunning is the Founder and Manager of Equine Reflections, a specialised EFL practise based near the town of Bishop's Castle, in the South Shropshire hills; an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty.

Angela is an Epona Approved EFL Facilitator having completed her year long apprenticeship in Equine Facilitated Learning at the Epona Centre, Arizona in 2007. She is also a 2006 graduate of the Epona Advanced Study Experience (EASE).

Angela is a life-long horse lover, a BHS approved riding instructor and gifted natural horsewoman. She has a unique connection with horses, embodying sensitivity, gentleness and respect. She honours the horse's sensitivity and empowers them to have a say in their interactions with humans; allowing them to fully express their emotions and needs. Angela has found that by doing so, the horse respects and trusts us and then a true partnership can be built. This type of relationship crucially also allows the opportunity for people to learn about themselves by noticing the feedback in the horse's behaviour around us.

In addition to her equine experience Angela holds a BA (Hons) degree in Peace Studies and a Postgraduate Qualification in Youth and Community Work, along with many years experience working in the public and voluntary sector, advising, supporting and coaching individuals and groups to enable them to live sustainable lives and move from surviving to thriving. Specialising in working with refugees and asylum seekers from war torn regions of the world, Angela has substantial experience of working with vulnerable people many of who were experiencing mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Her deeply held belief for Equine Facilitated Learning is that it helps people live more authentically and realise their full potential in life.
